03/13/2011 - My husband & I have been coming to Zaros for years. Prior to that we've been to every Greek place in Nassau, Suffolk & the city- NO ONE compares to them! They truly are an authentic family owned restaurant who know how to make my favorites "the right way".

Not only do we travel east once a week to them we use them for all our personal & corporate parties w/ free delivery ! We are foodies & we say experience the difference - once you taste their food you wouldn't go anywhere else- that is if you appreciate authentic, fresh quality all natural cooking.

And their prices for what they do is more than reasonable. By the way Zaros... love your newly renovated dinng room !!

06/29/2010 - What a delightful find you are!!! John and I happened in a few weeks ago - strangers from North Carolina (via Scotland)- because we love traditional Gyros. What we got was so much more! The food was "tastefully delicious", and the atmosphere so welcoming, we came back for dinner. We left with hugs and cards to hand out to friends in Glen Cove and elsewhere. Thanks for making our stay in Huntington Station a highlight of our trip!

09/22/2000 - If you are looking for a nice family atmosphere Zaro's is the place to be. It is a family-owned business the food is to die for and the variety is outstanding complete with fair prices and superb quantities.

When i visited i tried the 'Chicken ALA ZAROS' meal, it was deliscious.The meal started with salad then soup accompanied with complimentary bread.By the time the main dish arrived i thought that i have ordered enough for two people. In short the service, menu, and food was great all it lacked was a bigger dining area.

Small and unpretentious, Zaro's Cafe offers a happy mix of Italian and Greek cuisines at bargain prices. For close to a decade, the little eatery has been satisfying appetites with pizzas, spinach pies, and an assortment of homestyle Mediterranean specialties.

Begin with a hearty bowl of kale and sausage soup, the flavors deep and assertive. Greek egg lemon soup is citric but not harsh, soothing but not a bit boring.

Pastas here are portioned to feed at least two and priced at less than what it usually costs to feed one. Linguini Bolognese is delicious, the strands of al dente pasta coated with a lusty meat sauce. Ziti with broccoli comes in a red plum tomato sauce punctuated by lots of garlic; the bright green florets cooked to an optimal crisp-tender doneness.

Finish with baklava, made with either pistachio or walnuts. Both are sweet and fragrant. - Joan Reminick
